Leroy Bird
Data Scientist
Leroy joined the team at Bodeker Scientific in February 2019. Leroy has a background in mathematics and computer science, and has been working as a data scientist specialising in climate change and extreme weather since he joined Bodeker Scientific. He is an expert in applying statistical methods, such as extreme value analysis, to climate-based problems. Recently, he has been using machine learning to develop new methods for assessing weather and climate based risks, such as detecting changes in extreme precipitation. Leroy also has experience developing and running climate and weather forecasting models, including WRF - the Weather Research and Forecasting model.
