Leroy worked at Bodeker Scientific from February 2019 to June 2022, and has since continued working with the team as an independent contractor through his company RedSky AI . Leroy has a background in mathematics and computer science, and has specialised expertise applying data science methods in climate change and extreme weather research. He is skilled in applying statistical methods, such as extreme value analysis, to climate-based problems. Recently, he has been using machine learning to develop new methods for assessing weather and climate based risks, such as detecting changes in extreme precipitation. Leroy also has experience developing and running climate and weather forecasting models, including WRF - the Weather Research and Forecasting model.
