Annabel Yip
Project Scientist
Annabel combines her background in Physics, education, operations, and project management in her role at Bodeker Scientific. She helps scientist have the time to be scientists, ensures non-domain experts can understand the scientists, and engages students and the public with what we do here at Bodeker Scientific.
During her Masters in Physics, Annabel was involved in 'Physics in the Field' public outreach events with the Institute of Physics, and developed educational outreach materials for the Cherenkov Telescope Array research project, which spans 150 institutes across 25 countries. This sparked a passion for science education and outreach, and Annabel became a qualified secondary (Years 7-13) Science teacher, specialising in Physics. After teaching in several secondary schools in the UK, Annabel worked at Collinson Group in Hong Kong for 7+ years, setting up and managing the Training and Quality Assurance team as an Assistant Manager in Operations. At Collinson, Annabel project managed teams across Hong Kong, Mumbai, and London, developed technical and soft skills training programmes, and gained valuable client and customer servicing experience.
