Dr Matthew Walker

Data Scientist

Matthew’s doctorate and post-doctorate studies were in a field of artificial intelligence: the automated production of computer code. He has industry experience in data science, machine-learning and software development, including: analysing the benefits of treatment-induced erythema for skin diseases, deep-learning to detect tourists on the wrong side of the road, automated analysis of high-rise buildings, Monte-Carlo financial modelling of a business case, assessing Fonterra’s milk-price model, synchronised audio conferencing and audio processing, simulation of team dynamics, automated experimentation for process optimisation, and automated redundancy checking of a data-centre’s power distribution system.
