On Saturday 26 April, four of the Bodeker Scientific team participated in the annual Lake Hawea Challenge mountain bike race. The course was changed from that in previous years as a result of the Hunter River being higher than normal. As a result the route was around 86 km for the classic rather than the usual 95 km.
